White Plains is getting a lot of star turns of late.

The downtown area near Hamilton Avenue between North Broadway and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was shut down in late February for the filming of a Steven Spielberg film — with spotting’s of Emily Blunt and for some, the famous director himself (The Daily Mail got a photo of Spielberg himself at a gas station).

Those watching the recently released Netflix show “Zero Day,” a political thriller starring Robert De Niro, might have also caught a glimpse of the Westchester city — complete with a tagline that read “White Plains, New York” — when two characters meet at the Townhouse Diner, at 720 N. Broadway in North White Plains.

Owner Gus Koutros said this wasn’t his first rodeo as the diner has been used before for other film shoots and commercials. Still he was happy to have the Netflix team there. Filming took place last March.

“Zero Day,” which also stars Jesse Plemons and Lizzy Caplan, filmed throughout Westchester, according to Natasha Caputo, director of tourism and film for the county. That included scenes at Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown Heights, Purchase College in Purchase and at a private estate in Mount Pleasant which stands in for the home of ex-President George Mullen, played by De Niro.

Hollywood focus for Westchester

White Plains isn’t the only Westchester city seeing its fair share of film shoots this winter. “Dexter Resurrection,” which films at Lionsgate Studios in Yonkers, were on the street filming on Woodworth on Feb. 24.

The crime drama, a continuation of the series “Dexter,” follows avenging serial killer Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) and features many returning characters. In mid-January, the show filmed at Noble Cafe in Sparkill.

Along with HBO’s “The Gilded Age,” which was spotted filming outside the Yonkers train station in early December, the CBS hit drama “FBI: Most Wanted” filmed at Wartburg, a premier senior care and housing provider, with the episodes set to air in the upcoming season.

Filming for that took place this past fall and included the appearances of actors Dylan McDermott, Keisha Castle-Hughes, and Roxy Sternberg, along with more than 100 crew members and extras.

“FBI: Most Wanted” follows Special Agent Remy Scott (played by McDermott) and his elite fugitive task force as they relentlessly track down the country’s most dangerous criminals.

Food for thought

Plus let’s not forget all the celebrity diners who frequent many area restaurants and coffee shops. Bill Murray recently dined in Chappaqua; Drew Barrymore was spotted at a bakeshop in Scarsdale and Lucien Leon Laviscount, who’s in the Netflix series “Emily in Paris,” was in Tarrytown.
