The new series is coming to Paramount+ this March.
Calling all crime drama lovers, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan are teaming are for what has to be the most anticipated series of the year. Guy Ritchie’s bold new London-based Paramount+ series, MobLand, is officially on the way and will star Helen and Pierce as the “perfect” couple. Are they really the perfect couple? Not exactly.
MobLand is centred around two warring families whose enterprises stretch across the globe, as well as the loyal “fixer” (played by Tom Hardy) who’s charged with protecting one of them at all costs. Helen and Pierce – who, much to our delight, are also starring in The Thursday Murder Club together – play the head of one such family, husband and wife Maeve and Conrad Harrigan. And the series is set to take them to some pretty dark places.
Here’s everything we know about the upcoming series, including the cast, plot and official release date…
What is MobLand about?
The series has been described as “an electrifying, new global crime series,” which centres around two warring families based in London and the fiercely loyal “fixer” tasked with protecting one of them.
Tom Hardy (who also has an executive producer credit along with Guy Ritchie) will star as Harry Da Souza, a professional conciliator on behalf of the Harrigan family, while Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren will play Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, the head of a very successful Irish crime family based in London and Harry’s bosses.
Joanne Froggatt stars as Harry’s wife, Jan Da Souza, with Paddy Considine starring as the eldest Harrigan son, Kevin, Lara Pulver as Kevin’s wife, Bella Harrigan and Anson Boon as Eddie Harrigan, Kevin and Bella’s rebellious son.
We already know how brilliant Guy is when it comes to British Gangster movies, but will he fare well in criminal underworld territory? We hope so.
Who will star in MobLand?
The full cast of MobLand includes:
- Helen Mirren (Prime Suspect)
- Pierce Brosnan (James Bond)
- Tom Hardy (Wuthering Heights)
- Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey)
- Geoff Bell (Top Boy)
- Daniel Betts (Gentleman Jack)
- Lisa Dwan (Blackshore)
- Emily Barber (Bridgerton)
- Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon)
- Mandeep Dhillon (After Life)
- Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy)
- Lara Pulver (The Split)
- Anson Boon (1917)
When will the series air?
We’re very pleased to say we have an official release date and it’s only a month away! MobLand will premiere on Paramount+ on Sunday 30th March.
