GEORGE Michael’s £10m London home lies in ruins nine years on from his death with the star’s sister begging the council for help.

His only living sibling, Yioda Panayiotou, was handed the property after the legendary singer tragically died on Boxing Day 2016 aged 53.

George bought the pad in 1987 and lived in it for a number of years.

But after moving out to spend time between his Highgate mansion and a country estate in Goring, Berkshire, the pad fell into disrepair.

In 2002, burglars ransacked the home while George was away.

His sister has now taken over the property and was previously given the green light by the council after architects BB Partnership vowed to make the crumbling home “habitable”.

Now landscape designers are seeking permission to fell or heavily prune nine trees, which have become a threat to the property but are situated in the Conservation Area.

This includes flattening a “leaning” eight-metre high holly and an 11-metre evergreen thuja tree, which is “growing within close proximity of the building”.

Plus a 13-metre mature Leyland cypress, which is “fast growing” and in “fairly close proximity to the building”.

Yioda’s team also want to trim down a massive sycamore which is hanging over the garages.

They’ve asked to reduce the 18-metre size and remove dead wood.

All of this is being described as to “control encroachment” or “general maintenance”.

She is also having a new roof, solar panels, new doors and windows, decking, and one of the garages is being turned into living quarters.

Upon completion, it’s thought that Yioda herself is moving into the pad.

George left his £98 million fortune to his two sisters, Yioda and Melanie Payiotou, but the latter passed away three years after her brother on Christmas Day in 2019.

Scaffolding has now been erected all around the property, which when completed could fetch upwards of £10M, and is around the corner from celebs such as Harry Styles and Lewis Capaldi.
