Lindsey Burrow has shared a statement following last night’s National Television Awards. The wife of the late Rob Burrow attended the legendary event held at the 02 Arena in London with daughters Maya and Macy.
The National Television Awards took place last night as the star-studded event returned in all its glory. Our favourite TV stars headed to London for the evening hosted by comedian Joel Dommett.
The evening opened with a phenomenal performance from McFly, before Michael McIntryre scooped up the first prize of the night. He triumphed in the category for The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, up against The Graham Norton Show, The Masked Singer and Would I Lie To You?.
Jeremy Clarkson scooped up the prize for best factual entertainment programme, followed by Steve MacFadden who claimed the trophy for best serial drama performance.

However, there was much debate surrounding the Authored Documentary category, which saw former Love Island star take the win for her Amazon Prime series “Molly-Mae: Behind It All.”
She was up against some fierce competiton in the category, including Boyzone, Freddie Flintoff, Strictly Come Dancing’s Amy Dowden and finally Rob Burrow’s final documentary before he lost his battle with motor neurone disease.
Former rugby league player Rob Burrow spent his 16-year-long career at Leeds Rhinos as well as representing England and Great Britain. He retired from the sport in 2017 and was diagnosed with with motor neurone disease (MND) in December 2019.

Leeds Rhinos said he “inspired the entire country” as he battled the disease. He died on June 2, 2024 aged 41 and tributes flooded in from all over the UK.
Rob continued to raise awareness and funds throughout his battle for a new treatment centre, which is called the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease in Leeds. Millions praised Rob for his ambition, as well as holding deep admiration for his wife Lindsey’s courage, bravery and commitment to her husband through such a difficult time.
There’s Only One Rob Burrow is a BBC documentary which is a tribute to the life of the former rugby player. Viewers were expecting the heartbreaking programme to take home the trophy at the National Television Awards last night, but were shocked when Molly Mae’s Behind It All scooped up the prize, which tells the story of the reality star’s life after her public break-up to boxer Tommy Fury.
Accepting the award, Molly dedicated it to the late Rob Burrow in an emotional speech on stage. She told the NTAs audience: “I think, as you guys saw, we were up against some seriously inspirational people in this category.

“To Lindsay, Rob Burrow’s wife and his children, his story was far more inspirational than mine could ever be. It was just incredible and touched me in more ways than I can explain. This one’s for you Rob, and to the other inspirational people in this category.”
Molly reiterated her message in a post on Instagram earlier today. Sharing a photo with the trophy from the night, she wrote: “Just speechless. Last night at the NTAs I shared a category with people whose stories will always be more powerful and inspirational than mine. I see that, I believe that and I want to acknowledge it again here.
“It was only right to dedicate this award to the late Rob Burrow and his family and to the remarkable people in my category… this win belongs to them. I’m so grateful for the recognition but even more grateful to have stood alongside such strength and inspiration. To everyone that voted… I am absolutely blown away. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Lindsey has also shared her own statement after last night. She thanked Molly for her “kind words” and shared a special tribute to Rob. Sharing a gorgeous photo of herself alongside Maya and Macy on the red carpet, she wrote: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who voted and supported Rob’s documentary.
“Thank you to the amazing @bbcbreakfast team and Phil Daly @leedsrhinos – without you none of this would have been possible. Huge congratulations to @mollymae, and thank you for your kind words, it really means a lot.
“Finally, a special heartfelt thank you to Rob for being so brave and courageous in sharing your story. We will continue to shine a light on the MND community with you as our guiding light x.”
