Denver Broncos Stun The NFL By Acquiring Superstar Wide Receiver In Blockbuster Trade Proposal That Would Make Their Offense Unstoppable
A blockbuster trade proposal has the Denver Broncos making a big-time move by acquiring Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver D.K. Metcalf.
The 27-year-old D.K. Metcalf has been the subject of trade rumors since the end of the 2024 NFL season, though the Seahawks haven’t indicated a desire to trade him. But as we saw with Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas and Marshawn Lynch, Seahawks GM John Schneider doesn’t view any player as untouchable.
Josh Buckhalter at Heavy.com proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has the Seahawks trading D.K. Metcalf to the Broncos in exchange for 2025 first and third-round draft picks (the No. 20 and No. 85 selections):
“This deal follows the same framework as the Philadelphia Eagles’ trade with the Tennesse Titans for A.J. Brown. The Eagles traded picks Nos. 18 and 101 in the 2022 draft to the Titans for Brown that offseason. Brown has made two Pro Bowls and won the Super Bowl with the Eagles…
Acquiring him would give the Broncos a succession plan for (Courtland) Sutton, who turns 30 in October, and allow their younger receivers like Devaughn Vele and Troy Franklin to develop under less pressure.”
The Broncos certainly need to get more receiving help for Sutton and quarterback Bo Nix. The former finished with 81 catches for 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns, but Marvin Mims was a distant second on the team with only 503 receiving yards.
D.K. Metcalf would certainly address Denver’s need for another explosive pass-catcher. The two-time Pro Bowler has put up 900-plus receiving yards in each of his six NFL seasons, including a career-high 1,303 in 2020.

But if Denver is to close the gap with top AFC teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills, they’ll have to upgrade the supporting cast around Nix. And getting a future Hall of Fame talent like Metcalf would go a long way in achieving that.
