LeBron James was furious over the ‘Next Face of the NBA’ debate. After the Lakers’ game against the Timberwolves, he was asked about Anthony Edwards and whether he wanted the title himself. James didn’t hold back, launching into a fiery response that quickly made headlines, first calling out the mainstream media before taking aim at NBA analysts.

James made his opinions clear in an interview with ESPN’s SportsCenter. He claimed that the NBA media just ‘sh*t’ on the player who carries the ‘face of the NBA’ title. However, these words did not sit well completely with Stephen A. Smith. He took to X to put forward his views regarding this matter. Smith claimed that James is wrong regarding the NBA media.

Edwards is definitely on the shortlist of players who could replace James as the league’s ‘spokesperson ” or ‘next face’ after he retires. Smith responded to the Lakers captain on X.

The NBA needs to make changes to the All-Star format. Additionally, some games are taking far too long to finish because of the constant critiques. Superstars wouldn’t mind serving as the league’s face. That is, if changes are well executed, the league could improve.
