BREAKING: LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves Make Lakers History Against Timberwolves
The Los Angeles Lakers continued their impressive run on Thursday night, securing a 111-102 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first game of their back-to-back stretch. The win marks the Lakers’ fourth straight, improving their record to 35-21 moving them into the fourth seed in the Western Conference—just 1.5 games behind the second-seeded Memphis Grizzlies.
Once again, the Lakers were powered by their star trio of LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves, who each delivered standout performances.
James led the way with 33 points, 17 rebounds, and six assists, while Doncic contributed 21 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists. Reaves also made his mark, adding 23 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
Beyond securing the win, James, Doncic, and Reaves made history, becoming the first Lakers trio to each record a 20/5/5 stat line in a game since 1988.
The Lakers set the tone early, jumping out to a 16-point lead by the end of the first quarter. However, Minnesota fought back, trimming the deficit to 11 points at halftime. The Timberwolves ramped up the pressure in the fourth quarter, cutting the Lakers’ lead to just three points.
With the game on the line, Doncic drilled a clutch three-pointer, followed by a LeBron James takeover in the final minutes, ultimately sealing the victory for LA.
The Lakers will look to keep their winning streak alive when they face their cross-town rivals, the LA Clippers, on Friday night. The matchup will be another crucial test as the Purple and Gold continue their push toward securing home-court advantage in the playoffs.
