The Rockets’ 111-104 win over the Suns at the Toyota Center saw a big brawl between Rockets star Steven Adams and Suns’ Mason Plumlee. The two players were ejected in the second quarter after a physical confrontation that escalated into a full-blown scuffle on the floor.

The incident occurred late in the second quarter after Jalen Green made a basket. As Adams and Plumlee fought for the rebounding position, neither player backed down. The physical battle quickly turned chaotic when Plumlee landed on top of Adams. Instead of separating, the two big men remained locked together.

Within moments, teammates, coaches, and officials rushed to break up the scuffle. The referees reviewed the play and determined that both Adams and Plumlee were guilty of fighting, issuing them double technical fouls and ejecting them from the game.

Crew chief Tony Brothers explained the reasoning behind the decision, stating that the altercation met the criteria for automatic ejection.

“Their aggressive actions were considered a fight, and by rule, fighting technical fouls carry a penalty of automatic ejections,” Tony Brothers said.

Where are they now? Keeping tabs on players from the past with Honest Larry
The Boston Celtics can finally concentrate on finding the players on finishing their roster with the Kevin Durant trade request from the Brooklyn Nets rescinded, and in so doing will likely create some new alumni in the process by bringing on a few new players in place of the depth that they had in the 2021-22 NBA season. But where are the players from Boston’s past signing for this upcoming season? What teams and leagues are they signing with? Who is making the leap into coaching? Who are still waiting for the logjam that is KD that just broke to open up some spots for them to sign with a team in the Association? For this episode of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast, we decided to take a trip down memory lane to get ourselves up to speed on where the alumni of the Celtics are going to spend the upcoming season.  To do that we enlisted friend of the pod and unofficial team Twitter historian Honest Larry, who linked up with your usual hosts Cameron Tabatabaie, Alex Goldberg, and Justin Quinn to figure out where these blasts from Boston’s past hang their hats (and their jerseys) now. Breaking down Boston’s Game 2 win vs. the Pacers, what to expect in Game 3
The Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers 126-110 in Game 2 of the NBA’s 2024 Eastern Conference finals thanks to a career playoff-high matching 40 points from Jaylen Brown. But it came at the expense of backup big man Luke Kornet’s wrist being sprained on a team already thin at center; will Boston be okay with Kornet on the bench?. On the other side of the court, however, we saw Pacers star Tyrese Halliburton leave the game injured in the second half with what initially appeared to be a re-aggravation of the hamstring injury that kept him out for significant time this season. Will he be able to play when the series shifts pack to Indiana for Game 3, and if not, is a sweep incoming? The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast reacted to the win postgame from the Garden (excuse the Wi-Fi issues, please), seeing some small ball looks that paid off — and defensive lapses that did not.  The Celtics Lab podcast is brought to you by Prize Picks and Gametime. Despite the intensity of Steven Adams and Mason Plumlee’s brawl, many onlookers, including Rockets head coach Ime Udoka, were surprised by the ruling. Udoka believed that while the altercation was physical, it did not rise to the level of an ejection-worthy fight.

“There wasn’t much. Steven could do a lot more if he was really trying to wrestle. It looked like they got in a little bear hug and fell down. I thought that would maybe be a technical at best. Surprised they were ejected,” Udoka said.

Both Adams and Plumlee were playing limited roles in the game before their ejections. Plumlee finished with four points and six rebounds in 13 minutes. Meanwhile, Adams had only one point and four rebounds off the bench for the Rockets.
