Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball has broken his silence following his father’s major surgery.

LaVar Ball had his right foot amputated earlier this week, with TMZ breaking the news. The outspoken 57-year-old is probably as famous as his sons, having hyped their careers before they got into the pros and predicting they would be lottery picks.

That was the case for LaMelo and his brother Lonzo. While things didn’t work out that way for LiAngelo, he has carved out a lucrative rap career for himself.

LaVar, the founder of the Big Baller Brand, is not the most liked NBA dad around, but fans were not happy to learn he lost a foot following this week’s surprising revelation.

The reason for the amputation has not been disclosed, and the entire family had maintained their silence all week before the Hornets point guard took to Instagram to post a message for his dad.

The photo came on the back of Charlotte’s nail-biting win over the star-studded Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, in which the youngest Ball brother dropped 27 points, six assists, and five rebounds.

LaVar is said to be in “great spirits” despite the latest development in his health, which doesn’t surprise us, given what we know about the man.

As for LaMelo Ball, his Hornets are scheduled to play the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday following last night’s loss to the Denver Nuggets.
