The Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade was a well-executed setup between Rob Pelinka and Nico Harrison. Really? We’re not saying that, but the NBA fans tuned up for the Dallas Mavericks-Golden State Warriors game think so.

Recently, Los Angeles Lakers main man Rob Pelinka took some time off from his busy schedule to visit the arena for an NBA game. He was seen catching up with Mavericks GM Martinez and exchanging a few words. While the duo seemed to be joking around, the basketball fans caught the wind.

Pelinka has been highly active lately, and he’s been effective in his role leading up to the NBA trade deadline. He traded D’Angelo Russell, who had struggled throughout the season, to acquire Dorian Finney-Smith, a 3-and-D forward that the Lakers have needed. Furthermore, Pelinka was the man behind one of the biggest trades in NBA history involving Luka Doncic.

After these trades, it seems Pelinka is taking a moment to observe the impact of these changes. He was seen attending the game between the Mavs and the Bay Area team at Chase Center, where he was joined by his longtime friend, Nico Harrison.

In his efforts, Pelinka also attempted to acquire Mark Williams, a center with potential from the Charlotte Hornets. But that trade fell through due to health issues revealed in Williams’ physical examination. However, social media fans have not kept calm even after a couple of months since Doncic was traded. They’re still tearing Nico apart for his controversial move.

“That trade was a setup,” a fan commented on the video post.

“If I’m Nico, I’m smacking him in the face,” another fan commented.

“You can visibly see Nico’s face changed after seeing Rob. He’s mad mad after being robbed and finessed in the Luka trade by Pelinka,” a fan noted.

“They’ll never know it was all an inside job,” a fan joked.

“Might give Kyrie next for nothing,” a user quipped.

Though most fans lambasted the duo for their sensational trade move, they really pulled off a banger. The main reason behind the fans’ outbursts stems from the trade itself. The Lakers clearly won this trade because they got a young superstar, Luka Doncic. However, Rob Pelinka offloaded Anthony Davis at the same time, and he is not living up to Dallas’ expectations.
