REPORT: New Details Reveal How LeBron James’ Current Groin Injury Differs From His 2018 Setback Against Warriors

Lakers' LeBron James Could Miss 'Weeks, Not Days' Following Injury vs Celtics: Report | Yardbarker

LeBron James and his injury scare are back again! After a seven-game undefeated run, the Los Angeles Lakers were finally defeated by the Boston Celtics. However, this was not what JJ Redick and co. were concerned about. All eyes were on King James’ health. James was spotted hobbling toward the Lakers’ locker room with just six minutes left in the fourth quarter. Reports later stated that James had suffered a groin injury.

Well, this brings back memories of his identical injury from 2018. On Christmas Day 2018, James tore his groin playing against the Golden State Warriors. Derailing the Lakers’ playoff hopes, James missed 17 games as his team slumped to 5-12 during that phase.

Thankfully, this might not be the case this time. While James tore his groin last time, according to Shams CharaniaJames might just have evaded a situation here. “Unlike in 2018 when LeBron James had that groin tear, I’m told he did not hear a pop last night in Boston,” said Charania.

According to James, his injury occurred right when he scored the final basket of his night. Although the extent of James’ injury is unknown, initial predictions have come in. Dave McMenamin from ESPN opined, “too early to project an accurate timetable for how long LeBron James could miss… initial thought is that it will sideline James for a matter of weeks, not a matter of days.”

Undoubtedly, the Lakers and their fans would like James to recover quickly. After all, he is currently on a dream run.

Gearing up for a Brooklyn Nets-Boston Celtics collision with Nick Fay
The Boston Celtics will face the Brooklyn Nets later this week with the Eastern Conference’s top spot potentially at stake, and while a bit of the wind has been taken out of the proverbial sails of the matchup with Nets star Kevin Durant out for the game with a sprained MCL as well as an outside shot of Marcus Smart missing the contest with a contused knee, it will still be a very important game for the Celtics. More data for a potential postseason collision, the aforementioned top spot in play, and a chance to see if Boston will play the way they should despite the absence of KD all loom large. The growth of Brooklyn bigs Nick Claxton and Ben Simmons also figures to be a point of concern, and any time the team crosses paths with Kyrie Irving, things get intense. To that end, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast linked up with the host of the Off the Glass “Brooklyn Buzz” podcast Nick Fay to talk all things Celtics-Nets. The foursome get into how Durant’s absence may impact the MVP race, what sort of trade targets each squad might have interest in at the 2023 NBA trade deadline, and more. Boston snatches victory from the jaws of defeat in Game 6 with Greg Brueck-Cassoli
With the Boston Celtics’ season — and perhaps much more — on the brink in Game 6 of their 2023 Eastern Conference semifinals series with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Celtics needed to put it all out on the court for a win. And somehow, despite a 0-of-10 first half for Jayson Tatum that saw the Duke alum put up just one make from the floor in the third quarter and 18 turnovers for the team, Boston did exactly that. A shift back to the defense-first, double-big lineup of Al Horford and Robert Williams III paid early dividends, and despite things coming a bit unglued for much of the middle of the game, Tatum getting hot from 3 late saved the season and perhaps more. To talk about the improbable, dramatic win for the Celtics, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast linked up with High Off the Glass’ Greg Brueck-Cassoli. We also (very) briefly touch on the other series around the 2023 NBA Playoffs and look ahead to Game 7 on Mother’s Day at TD Garden. JJ Redick has been on a dream run as a coach. But his passion is being fueled mainly by two athletes. LeBron James and the latest addition, Luka Doncic. James, in particular, has been keeping the team together. At the advanced age of 40, James is still averaging 24.7 points per game!

Luka Doncic adds to the team’s strength. In the all-important game against the Denver Nuggets, Doncic scored a massive 32 points to steer the Lakes clear of their opponents. Thus, with the fans worried about LeBron James’ injury, what happens next remains to be seen.
