Police Reportedly Change Charges For Michael Jordan’s Son, Marcus Following Key Finding Since His Rest

The authorities have amended one of Marcus Jordan’s charges following his arrest earlier this month.

Marcus, the son of NBA icon Michael Jordan, found himself in some trouble with the law in the early hours of February 5 after getting his vehicle stuck on train tracks in Maitland, Florida. He did not appear to be sober and is said to have been aggressive with the officers who confronted him.

The police would discover a white powdery substance in one of his pockets, which was suspected to be cocaine.

According to TMZ, initial testing produced a positive result for cocaine; however, further testing by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement found it was ketamine.

“Considering the two substances feature the same color and texture, ketamine can often yield a positive cocaine reading … so it isn’t out of the ordinary, we’re told,” noted.

Marcus Jordan’s charge has changed from one of cocaine possession to possession of ketamine. He is also charged with DUI with property damage and resisting arrest.

Is A Ketamine Charge Better For Marcus Jordan?

Given that ketamine is a Schedule III drug in Florida – cocaine is Schedule II – the change should be a welcome one where Jordan is concerned.

The former UCF guard pleaded not guilty to all three charges a few days after his arrest.

Marcus has stayed under the radar since he was apprehended, though he did pop up on social media to wish his father a happy birthday on February 17, nearly two weeks after sending a message to his Instagram followers.

“I appreciate everyone reaching out,” he wrote then. “I sincerely appreciate your concerns & thank you for your kind understanding.”

Michael Jordan has not made any public comments on his son’s arrest or the charges he’s facing.
