The Philadelphia 76ers’ season hit a new low on Monday night as they suffered a brutal 142-110 blowout loss to the Chicago Bulls on their home court. What was supposed to be a chance for redemption turned into a disaster as it extended Paul George’s team’s losing streak to eight games. With a 20-37 record, the 76ers are now the 12th-seeded Eastern Conference side.

After the game, George didn’t hold back when addressing the team’s current struggles. He spoke candidly about the Sixers’ lack of identity and competitiveness to bring a winning mentality on the court.

We’ve shown no sign of a team that will compete. We just don’t have the habits of a champion, or a playoff-contending team, would have. To be honest, right now it’s a little far-fetched. All we can do is work hard and try to just keep going,” George said.

George finished the game with 19 points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks. He shot 8-of-16 from the field but struggled from beyond the arc, hitting only 2-of-7 from three-point range. Tyrese Maxey managed just 13 points and two assists.

On the other side, the Chicago Bulls capitalized on every Sixers’ mistake. Josh Giddey delivered an all-around masterclass, finishing with a near triple-double. He scored 25 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, dished out six assists which was a key factor in the Bulls’ 32-point rout.

“I think Ace Bailey has a bit more raw talent with still a ton of upside. I think Cooper Flagg, not to say he doesn’t have potential—he also has incredible potential—but I think Ace Bailey has a bit more potential,” George said.

Meanwhile, Paul himself is currently going through a tough season with the Sixers. So far, he has appeared in just 38 games, averaging 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
