“Need To Be Investigated”—NBA Fans Are Losing Their Minds After New Angle Shows Referee Ignoring Nic Claxton Intentionally Pushing Luka Doncic Despite Clear View

Controversial officiating is nothing new in the NBA, but some moments stand out more than others. The latest incident occurred during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 108-111 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, where Luka Doncic was at the center of a heated debate over a missed call.

During the game, Brooklyn center Nicolas Claxton shoved Doncic in the back with both hands. What made the situation even more frustrating for Doncic and Lakers fans was that the two referees had a clear view of the incident from different angles but chose not to make a call. In an era where even a simple stare at an opponent can result in a whistle, this no-call left many stunned.

A new camera angle later emerged, further proving that the officials saw the play but remained silent. The footage quickly spread on social media, igniting outrage among NBA fans. Many took to social media to call for an investigation into the officiating crew, while some even demanded suspensions for the referees involved.

Goodbye, Las Vegas, RIP TPE; Hello NBA doldrums
The 2022 NBA 2K23 Las Vegas Summer League has come and gone in the same way the Boston Celtics’ $17.1 million Evan Fournier Traded Player Exception (TPE) has, leaving the Celtics close to being done (we think, anyway) with their offseason team building plans and fans of the ball club with NBA-related content of current news. As the period of the league calendar unaffectionately known as the “doldrums” — named after the part of the Atlantic sailing ships used to avoid lest they be trapped in a literal sea of inactivity or movement — settles in, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast take a look at what might be left to do with Boston’s roster, what might have been with the TPE, and grill host Cameron Tabatabaie about what the Sin City NBA experience is like behind the scenes. Joined by your usual hosts Justin Quinn and Alex Goldberg, they also get you up to date on the trickle of news still coming in, and even throw some darts at what the NBA could do to spice up a midseason tournament Commissioner Adam Silver has been trying to spark interest in. As the NBA media cycle starts to wind down, join us on the Celtics Lab to wrap up the busy part of the offseason while we wait for training camp to kick off in late summer. Boston cancels Heat culture to advance to East semis to face Magic or Cavs
The Boston Celtics got their revenge against the Miami Heat for sending them fishing in the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals, instead kicking off the Heat’s postseason with a Game 5 win over Miami in their 2024 NBA Eastern Conference first round series. The 118-84 blowout was a fitting end for longtime Celtics broadcaster Mike Gorman’s 43-year career, and now Boston waits for star center Kristaps Porzingis to heal up and for a winner to emerge from the Cleveland Cavaliers – Orlando Magic series. The Celtics will face the winner perhaps as soon as next Sunday (May 5). What do we need to reflect on from this series, and what else is coming down the pike? The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast got together postgame to get us up to speed with all things Boston and postseason. We also give Celtics president Brad Stevens his flowers for a well-earned Executive of the Year award. The Celtics Lab podcast is brought to you by Prize Picks and Gametime. What went wrong in Game 1 for Boston, and what we’ll see in Game 2 to fix it with Barry Ebua
The Boston Celtics dropped Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series against the Philadelphia 76ers 119-115 despite Sixers big man Joel Embiid missing the game due to a sprained knee. The win came from a career playoff-high outing from James Harden, who shined in Embiid’s absence with the Celtics struggling to adjust their defense to stop him. What went wrong for Boston? Who could have done a better job on the court or behind the clipboard? How worried should we be about Game 2? Will Embiid be able to play in it, or can we expect more small-ball Sixers wreaking havoc on the Celtics’ defense? To take stock of the loss and talk about what might be coming for Game 2, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast sat down with “Pro Fan Sports” podcast host Barry Ebua. After, we hear from Cameron Tabatabaie live from TD Garden to relay what head coach Joe Mazzulla and Boston’s players had to say in light of the loss. Learn more about your ad choices. Devin Booker on splitting up the Jays, his and Tatum’s shared Kobe Bryant fandom and more
Sometimes, the best window into the state of a team is from the outside, the eye of an opposing player giving a new perspective to the echo chamber-like coverage one often sees within a team’s sphere of coverage. To that end, our own Cameron Tabatabaie got the goods on the Boston Celtics after their 2022 Finals run and build up to the looming 2022-23 season from Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker. The 2k23 cover star sat down with Tabatabaie to talk about everything from the newest iteration of the game his image now graces to the next car he plans to buy, but there was plenty of talk about the Celtics as well. Booker, in particular, had plenty to say about Boston’s top-rated defense. Check out this mini-pod from the NBA 23k3 Las Vegas Summer League to hear the Suns star chat about the Celtics, the league, and more while we wait for the Sin City Celtics to square off with the Summer Heat. The game was the Lakers’ second loss in a row after their eight-game winning streak. In the absence of LeBron James, Doncic bore the burden and ended the game with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists, and two steals.

Since Luka Doncic’s arrival, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in the spotlight. During a recent appearance on the Games with Names podcast, Lakers owner Jeanie Buss also shared her excitement about having Doncic on the roster.

It’s gonna be a lot of fun. Our fans are already ecstatic. And I love that he wears No. 77 because we’ve never had it. If he was wearing 24, it’s like sorry you can’t wear 24 because it’s retired. But we’ve never had a 77,” Buss said.

The expectations in Los Angeles are always sky-high. The pressure is on Doncic to prove he can be the future face of the franchise. But for now, the team seems to be headed in the right direction.
