At one point, Junior Bridgeman was talking with an anchor from WLKY when he expressed that he thought he was having a heart attack.

He was taken away in an ambulance.

Unfortunately, he would never recover and tragically died. He was 71.

Talking about Boston’s contender status, KG’s jersey retirement and more with Jason Terry
As the Boston Celtics inch towards contender status with improved play on both ends of the court at the same time the Brooklyn Nets are trying to find enough health to compete for a title, the two teams could very well be on a postseason collision course. One that began almost a decade ago when a fateful trade sent Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry to Brooklyn, and, given that it is just weeks before Garnett will have his Celtics jersey raised up to the rafters, we couldn’t think of a better person to talk about it with on the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast than the JET himself. In this episode, Cameron Tabatabaie and Justin Quinn are joined by Terry to talk about his time in Boston in their last era of contention, what it was like playing with KG, how he thinks of the Celtics and Nets’ short and medium-term futures, what’s keeping him busy these days and plenty more. This was a very fun pod that even has a Big Ticket in a helicopter story, so be sure to check it out. Why Boston is probably not making big moves at the deadline with Yossi Gozlan
With the Boston Celtics rolling and their path to hanging Banner 18 looking more possible than it has in many years, you can’t fault fans of the storied ball club for hoping for a reunion with former Boston big men Daniel Theis or Kelly Olynyk. Or failing that, team president Brad Stevens getting a deal done for rumored target Isaiah Stewart to fortify the team’s frontcourt. But even fairly modest trades like these are probably not in the cards for the Celtics this season, who can’t follow through with an offer that makes sense given the exigencies of the NBA’s new collective bargaining agreement or the team’s current structure. But the team will almost certainly make at least a few lesser moves to get better ahead of the NBA’s 2024 trade deadline in Early February, so the hosts of CLNS Media’s “Celtics Lab” podcast linked up with Cap Sheets’ Yossi Gozlan to try to project what it is Boston actually will end up doing. We also get into why those fun but unrealistic deals bringing back Celtics alumni or Beef Stew are unlikely or impossible, and get caught up on the last Boston news of 2023. Former NBA player-turned-billionaire businessman Junior Bridgeman has died at the age of 71 after suffering a medical emergency at a public event on Tuesday.

The younger crowd may not remember him, but he is an absolute legend.

Bridgeman starred at Louisville from 1972 to 1975, during which time he was twice named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year.

Bridgeman was a star of the 1975 Louisville Final Four team and was named to the All-MVC team in each of his three seasons at Louisville. He averaged 15.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and three assists during his three seasons at Louisville.

His good play got him drafted No. 8 overall at the 1975 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. The team would then trade him to the Bucks in the deal to acquire Kareem-Abdul Jabbar.

Junior Bridgeman played his first nine seasons with the Bucks before a two-year stint with the Los Angeles Clippers.

His final season would be in Milwaukee before retiring from the NBA in 1987.
