Michael Jordan is one of the best NBA players to have ever stepped on the court. In fact, many fans think he is the best NBA player, backing it up with his stats while comparing them to his competition, mainly Lebron James.

Before his time in the NBA, he enjoyed lots of success at the University of North Carolina, and of course, he loved the game of basketball. You must love the game to be as good as he was throughout his career.

However, basketball wasn’t his only love before heading to college. Jordan’s handwritten love letter to his then-girlfriend is now going viral as it is being prepared to be put up for auction with a starting bid of $10,000.

The enamored Jordan started the letter by writing, “Laquetta, you are my whole life next to basketball. Please don’t get mad about that statement.” That statement left no doubt that the NBA legend wrote it.

Jordan continues, “You are my whole life. But you can’t have basketball. It (sic) hard for me to do this because one day I hope to make a living of this, and I want you to be by my side. I can never show you how much my love goes for you, but each day I try to show you.”

“This show you how much I really care. My love for you will never run out. It will continue on through life. I am trying to get closer and closer to your family.” Jordan wrote after telling Laquetta that he would go out of his way to talk to her.

He finished off the letter by writing, “Well, I think I have explained myself pretty good,” he concluded. “I guess I better go. Hope to speak or see you soon.” While Jordan was clearly struggling to let her go at the time, it sure did pay off for him.
