Los Angeles Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks Post-Game Stats: Luka Doncic Records Triple-Double In First Matchup Against Former Team

Tuesday’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks was more than just a regular-season contest. It was the first time Luka Doncic faced his former team since the shocking midseason trade that sent him to LA in exchange for Anthony Davis. For Doncic, this game was like a “revenge game.” With strong support from his Lakers teammates, Doncic helped the Lakers secure a 107-99 victory at Crypto.com Arena.
The win marked the Lakers’ third consecutive victory and improved their record to 35-21, pushing them 14 games above .500 for the first time this season. They now hold the fourth seed in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the loss dropped the Mavericks to a 31-28 record, placing them in the ninth seed.
Luka Doncic’s Historic Performance Leads Los Angeles Lakers Past Mavericks
In his first game against the Mavericks as a Laker, Doncic recorded 19 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists, three steals, and two blocks while shooting 6-of-17 from the field. It was his first triple-double in a Lakers uniform. Doncic now ranks seventh all-time in career triple-doubles, surpassing 99.9% of all players in NBA history.
His historic night also placed him in elite company. Doncic became the first Laker since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to record at least 15 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists, two steals, and two blocks in a single game. Additionally, he joined LeBron James and Russell Westbrook as the only players in NBA history to register a triple-double against all 30 teams.
LeBron James also played a crucial role in securing the win. The Lakers star finished with 27 points on an efficient 11-of-17 shooting, along with 12 rebounds. Austin Reaves added 20 points and five assists, while Rui Hachimura contributed 15 points, six rebounds, and two blocks. Jaren Vanderbilt knocked down two of his three three-point attempts and finished with eight points and three rebounds.
On the Mavericks’ side, Kyrie Irving did his best to keep his team competitive. He played 40 minutes and led all scorers with 35 points, adding seven rebounds and four assists. Klay Thompson scored 22 points while grabbing eight rebounds. PJ Washington managed 10 rebounds and five assists but failed to score a single point.
