This performance not only set new freshman scoring records at both Duke University and the Atlantic Coast Conference but also sparked discussions about his potential selection in the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft. Notably, basketball analyst Quentin Richardson advised Flagg to consider staying at Duke for an additional year for a specific reason.

If I’m Cooper Flagg, I’m not sure I want to go to the Washington WizardsThat’s what’s waiting on him and that’s purgatory.” Richardson said on ESPN’s Magic Moments show.

On February 17, 2025, Flagg made history with an impressive achievement. He became the first ACC player in 25 years to exceed 500 points, record 100 assists, and block 30 shots in a regular season. His remarkable accomplishments position the Duke star as a pivotal player heading into the 2025 NBA Draft.
