REPORT: New Clear-Cut Favorites Emerge To Land Joel Embiid If He Leaves The 76ers Next Season Amid Concerning Knee Injury Update

Joel Embiid’s injury struggles continue to be a major concern for the Philadelphia 76ers. Despite undergoing surgery in February last year to address a lateral meniscus tear in his knee, the star center’s condition has not improved significantly. Reports suggest he may consider low-dose radiation therapy to manage his ongoing left knee issues.

With injuries playing a major role in roster changes this season, several NBA veterans have been traded due to their health struggles. Even a high-profile player like Luka Doncic was unable to avoid consequences related to injuries. Now, Embiid’s ongoing struggles have sparked speculation about a potential trade scenario.

According to a report from Bovada, if Embiid were to leave Philadelphia, the Toronto Raptors are currently the betting favorites to land him. The Raptors have +1500 odds of acquiring the former MVP, followed by the Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets, both at +1800. The Phoenix Suns are also in the mix, albeit as a long shot with +2500 odds.

So far this season, Embiid has played in only 19 games for the Sixers. However, when he has been on the court, his performance has remained strong. The seven-time All-Star is averaging 23.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. Unfortunately, due to the lack of games played, Embiid will be ruled out of postseason awards for the second consecutive year.

Bill Simmons Questions Joel Embiid’s Struggles Amid Sixers’ Losing Streak

Joel Embiid’s recent performances have raised concerns. The 76ers star missed the team’s latest game against the Chicago Bulls, but before that, he delivered one of his most underwhelming performances in a loss to the Brooklyn Nets. After the performance, NBA analyst Bill Simmons openly questioned his presence on the court.

“I have no idea why he’s playing. He looked miserable. He was falling down, I think, twice as much as he has ever fallen down,” Simmons said.

It came after Embiid scored only 14 points against the Nets. The frustration surrounding Embiid’s performance comes at a difficult time for the Sixers, who are now on an eight-game losing streak. With their recent loss to the Bulls, Philadelphia has fallen to a 20-37 record.
