The Los Angeles Lakers lost 111-101 to the Boston Celtics, ending their eight-game winning streak. Unfortunately, the loss wasn’t the only setback of the night, as Lakers superstar LeBron James suffered a groin injury during the game. This injury raised concerns among Lakers fans, especially with the 2024-25 NBA season nearing its climax.

In response to the situation, Rich Paul, James’s agent, addressed the injury during a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee podcast. He emphasized that James knows his body better than anyone else and did not provide a specific timeline for his return.

As a result of the injury, James missed the subsequent game against the Brooklyn Nets, in which the Lakers faced another defeat. Amidst this tense situation, surprising news emerged on social media that shocked many fans. NBA Memes recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) that James has missed every March for the past five years.

In March 2021, James sprained his ankle while playing against the Atlanta Hawks. In March 2022, he suffered another ankle injury. Moreover, in March 2023, James was diagnosed with a tendon injury in his right foot.

When news of James’s injuries during March of every year made its way to social media, fans began to react in the comment sections. Many fans started mentioning James’s age as the key factor for his injuries. Meanwhile, some users took a more provocative approach, suggesting that steroid injections might be at play. This sparked a lively debate, showcasing the passionate opinions surrounding the star’s performance.

Boston beats the odds again, turns garbage to gold to force Game 7
Once, a wise man told the fans of the Boston Celtics that anything was possible. And in Game 6 of the 2023 Eastern Conference finals as the Celtics could have let their title aspirations and their season slip through their fingers as Jimmy Butler made free throws to put the Miami Heat up 1 with just 3 seconds left, Boston’s Derrick White remembered that fact. A miraculous tip-in won the game for the Celtics and put Boston in a position to be the first team in the history of the NBA to overcome a 0-3 series deficit on their way to punching a ticket to face the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 NBA Finals and another chance at winning Banner 18. They will do it on Monday at home, playing for history on their home court of TD Garden. The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast sat down postgame to talk over a memory that will live on in Celtics lore for the ages. As well as what they expect to see in the best thing the NBA playoffs has to offer — a Game 7. The Celtics Lab podcast is brought to you by Fan Duel and Better Help. Learn more about your ad choices. Celtics mystique, Showtime Lakers, frustrating starts with Anthony Irwin
The rivalry between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers is one of the oldest and most celebrated in all of sport, and for good reason. Somehow, nearly seven decades into the heated competition for dominance in greatness between the two storied franchise, the tally remains at a tie after the Lakers’ most recent title, with each club now at 17 titles each. This Friday, Nov. 19, the two teams will meet again on the Celtics’ home court of TD Garden, but this time around the two teams will not exactly be arriving at the tilt in the best of shape in terms of records, with each club struggling a bit early in the 2021-22 NBA season. On this episode of the CLNS Media podcast “Celtics Lab,” your usual hosts of Cameron Tabatabaie, Alex Goldberg, and Justin Quinn are joined by special guest Anthony Irwin of Silver Screen and Roll and the “Locked on Lakers” podcast to talk about what’s behind each club’s slow start, and what we can expect to see Friday among several other topics.  If you’re of the ilk with tribalistic hatred for all things purple and gold, this might not be the pod for you, but if you want an honest look at both clubs as they are this season, hit play on the clip embedded above. Goodbye, Las Vegas, RIP TPE; Hello NBA doldrums
The 2022 NBA 2K23 Las Vegas Summer League has come and gone in the same way the Boston Celtics’ $17.1 million Evan Fournier Traded Player Exception (TPE) has, leaving the Celtics close to being done (we think, anyway) with their offseason team building plans and fans of the ball club with NBA-related content of current news. As the period of the league calendar unaffectionately known as the “doldrums” — named after the part of the Atlantic sailing ships used to avoid lest they be trapped in a literal sea of inactivity or movement — settles in, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast take a look at what might be left to do with Boston’s roster, what might have been with the TPE, and grill host Cameron Tabatabaie about what the Sin City NBA experience is like behind the scenes. Joined by your usual hosts Justin Quinn and Alex Goldberg, they also get you up to date on the trickle of news still coming in, and even throw some darts at what the NBA could do to spice up a midseason tournament Commissioner Adam Silver has been trying to spark interest in. As the NBA media cycle starts to wind down, join us on the Celtics Lab to wrap up the busy part of the offseason while we wait for training camp to kick off in late summer.
