Former NFL Star Destroys Caitlin Clark In Pop-A-Shot Game

Eli Manning Destroys Caitlin Clark in Pop-A-Shot Competition

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is possibly one of the best young basketball stars on the planet. Her skills led her to be selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft before having one of the best rookie seasons ever in the WNBA.

Clark is not only a basketball superstar but also a media darling. She has appeared on many sports talk shows and has promoted numerous brands she is associated with, and it’s incredible to see the lengths she’ll go to.

While her recent appearance on the New York Giants YouTube channel may not have been a sponsored deal, it was still a hilarious insight into the star’s personality and competitiveness, as she had a little competition with Eli Manning.

It was Manning versus Clark in a game of the arcade classic “Pop-A-Shot,” the former NFL signal-caller somehow won the match by a score of 76-51. It’s clear Manning had some fun with it as he engaged in playful trash talk with the Fever guard.

“We do a lot of games on this show with guests. I’ve never beat anyone before,” Manning said, pointing out that he had been practicing all week. Clark claimed that she was “honored to be the first.”

CLAB 19: Remembering Tommy Heinsohn & highly subjective draft thoughts
We originally planned to talk out irrational gut feelings or overconfidence in 2020 NBA draft prospects ahead of Wednesday’s big event, but a legend passed in the interim. With franchise icon Tommy Heinsohn’s death arriving after a long absence from the team he never could stay far from, we instead chose to share our favorite memories of the Celtic giant. We’re joined by Red’s Army writer and resident historian Mike Dynon, who regaled us with a window into his early fandom watching the Hall-of-Fame player and coach move to the other side of the clipboard. We did manage to squeeze in at least some of the draft talk we’d initially planned to focus on afterwards as well. Join Off the Glass’ Alex Goldberg, Celtics Hub’s Cam Tabatabaie, Celtics Wire editor Justin Quinn and Celtics Lab’s Mark Allison as we work out our nagging suspicions about the NBA draft.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/celtics-lab-nba-basketball-podcast/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy Learn more about your ad choices. Gearing up for a Brooklyn Nets-Boston Celtics collision with Nick Fay
The Boston Celtics will face the Brooklyn Nets later this week with the Eastern Conference’s top spot potentially at stake, and while a bit of the wind has been taken out of the proverbial sails of the matchup with Nets star Kevin Durant out for the game with a sprained MCL as well as an outside shot of Marcus Smart missing the contest with a contused knee, it will still be a very important game for the Celtics. More data for a potential postseason collision, the aforementioned top spot in play, and a chance to see if Boston will play the way they should despite the absence of KD all loom large. The growth of Brooklyn bigs Nick Claxton and Ben Simmons also figures to be a point of concern, and any time the team crosses paths with Kyrie Irving, things get intense. To that end, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast linked up with the host of the Off the Glass “Brooklyn Buzz” podcast Nick Fay to talk all things Celtics-Nets. The foursome get into how Durant’s absence may impact the MVP race, what sort of trade targets each squad might have interest in at the 2023 NBA trade deadline, and more. Navigating Boston’s ‘big’ cap concerns with Yossi Gozlan
The Boston Celtics and Grant Williams could not come to terms on a rookie scale extension for the Tennessee alumnus ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season, with Williams instead electing to bet on himself. How could this play out for both parties given we’re hearing rumbles of interest from opposing teams? How does the looming free agency of Al Horford affect Boston’s cap space outlook? The backdrop for Boston’s offseason financial concerns for their frontcourt also takes shape with a likely cap spike and looming media rights deal that could transform labor negotiations ahead of the league’s next collective bargaining agreement, so what might something like a hard cap mean for Boston? To get a look at some lingering but timely issues from a teambuilding perspective, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast linked up with HoopsHype cap guru Yossi Gozlan to talk over the contours of the Celtics’ and NBA’s cap management concerns, with an unvarnished view of the team’s start thrown in for good measure. Your usual hosts Cameron Tabatabaie and Justin Quinn also touch on Kyrie Irving’s suspension in the context of a lot of bad NBA news percolating to the surface all at once this week. Clark shouldn’t feel too bad about losing to Manning in the shoot-out-style game. She showed her passing prowess in a Gatorade during Super Bowl week, and it’s safe to say that she could challenge Manning and win one back.

While she may have lost in the “Pop-A-Shot,” Clark should maybe get back to focusing on her on-court skills as the WNBA season is set to get underway. The Fever get set to take on Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on May 17.
