Former Lakers Star Stuns The Entire Internet By Claiming He Got “Kicked Off” The Team By LeBron James For An Odd Reason

Whether or not LeBron James will win the NBA championship this year, but one thing is for sure, he’s not winning it with his former teammate. The Los Angeles Lakers are looking as strong this season but one of their former stars still has it sour with the team’s biggest superstar.

Recently, LeBron’s former Lakers teammate Dwight Howard opened up on his departure from LA with not so sweet memories. On the Above the Rim with DH 12, Howard shared what went between him and James that got him out of Hollywood.

“I said that and got kicked off the Lakers. So, I know how you[Mario Chalmers] feel. You can’t say that. I said that one time, and I was off the team. … It was after we won the championship, man. It happened on defense. I was like, ‘Yo, you gotta get back.’ And [LeBron] got mad because I said something. And I was like, ‘Yo, stop acting like a b—-, man,’” Howard said.

Howard, who won an NBA title with the Lakers in 2020, has faced challenges in returning to the league after a season with the Philadelphia 76ers (2020-21) and a brief return to the Lakers. In his last season with L.A., he played a solid bench role, averaging 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds in about 16 minutes per game.

Despite his performance, he has not been able to secure an NBA contract since then and has expressed his desire to return through social media. While the former Laker still wants to return to the league, it does not seem like he’ll wear purple and gold again, as per his allegations.

Devin Booker on splitting up the Jays, his and Tatum’s shared Kobe Bryant fandom and more
Sometimes, the best window into the state of a team is from the outside, the eye of an opposing player giving a new perspective to the echo chamber-like coverage one often sees within a team’s sphere of coverage. To that end, our own Cameron Tabatabaie got the goods on the Boston Celtics after their 2022 Finals run and build up to the looming 2022-23 season from Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker. The 2k23 cover star sat down with Tabatabaie to talk about everything from the newest iteration of the game his image now graces to the next car he plans to buy, but there was plenty of talk about the Celtics as well. Booker, in particular, had plenty to say about Boston’s top-rated defense. Check out this mini-pod from the NBA 23k3 Las Vegas Summer League to hear the Suns star chat about the Celtics, the league, and more while we wait for the Sin City Celtics to square off with the Summer Heat. Separating fact from fiction in Boston’s 2023-24 campaign with Jeff Zilgitt
When a new NBA season begins, every team is undefeated, and, at least mathematically speaking, a title contender as well. But for fans of the Boston Celtics, such slights of hand are not going to be enough to slake the thirst for Banner 18 raging in the gullets of Bostonians and their ilk. But the consensus seems to be that Boston is as well-prepared to do the deed as any team in the league next season, with the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets virtual co-favorites to win it all. When the dust settles on the 2023 NBA Finals, we will have our answer, but in the meantime, it is the duty of the league’s press corp to sort fact from fiction regarding the season ahead. To such an end, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast linked up with USA TODAY’s Jeff Zilgitt to do exactly that, from the preseason tilts we have seen thus far all the way on to the future of the league beyond this season and the next. Brace yourself for a few spicy takes plus plenty of agreement regarding this tea’s potential — no matter how it pans out, the NBA’s 2023-24 season already looks like the wildest of rides. Goodbye, Las Vegas, RIP TPE; Hello NBA doldrums
The 2022 NBA 2K23 Las Vegas Summer League has come and gone in the same way the Boston Celtics’ $17.1 million Evan Fournier Traded Player Exception (TPE) has, leaving the Celtics close to being done (we think, anyway) with their offseason team building plans and fans of the ball club with NBA-related content of current news. As the period of the league calendar unaffectionately known as the “doldrums” — named after the part of the Atlantic sailing ships used to avoid lest they be trapped in a literal sea of inactivity or movement — settles in, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast take a look at what might be left to do with Boston’s roster, what might have been with the TPE, and grill host Cameron Tabatabaie about what the Sin City NBA experience is like behind the scenes. Joined by your usual hosts Justin Quinn and Alex Goldberg, they also get you up to date on the trickle of news still coming in, and even throw some darts at what the NBA could do to spice up a midseason tournament Commissioner Adam Silver has been trying to spark interest in. As the NBA media cycle starts to wind down, join us on the Celtics Lab to wrap up the busy part of the offseason while we wait for training camp to kick off in late summer. LeBron James’ Former Heat Teammate Picks Michael Jordan Over Him

On the latest episode of his podcast, Dwight Howard was not the only one beefing up with LeBron James. His former Miami Heat teammate, Mario Chalmers, also tuned in for the discussion around the Lakers superstar.

Chalmers recently weighed in on the ongoing debate over who deserves the title of the greatest basketball player of all time. While both players enjoyed significant success during their time together in Miami, winning back-to-back NBA championships in 2012 and 2013, Chalmers believes that Michael Jordan holds the crown.

On Dwight Howard’s podcast, Chalmers explained that while LeBron is an incredibly gifted player, MJ’s fear and respect during his era set him apart in the eyes of those who played against him.

“When you talk to people—guys I played with, guys who played before me—they all say the same thing. With Jordan? It was fear. They called him ‘Black Jesus.’ They called him ‘Black Cat.’ There was a different stigma that came with playing against MJ. That’s just not the same with LeBron,” Chalmers said.

“Don’t get it twisted. LeBron is the best overall player you could want as a superstar. Physically gifted, can do everything on the court,” he said. “But my GOAT? The guy I’d want to live and die within a big moment? That’s Michael Jordan. That’s just me,” he added.

Although Chalmers never had the opportunity to compete against Jordan directly, his experience playing alongside LeBron provided him with deep insight into what makes a player truly great.
