The possibility of Kevin Durant ending up in Oklahoma City next season has garnered attention as speculation grows about his future with the Phoenix Suns. After opting for his no-trade clause during the Golden State Warriors hot talk, Durant’s days might finally be over at the Sun’s side.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Durant is anticipated to be playing what might be his final season with the Suns. As his time in Phoenix winds down, the Thunder emerged as a logical destination for the former MVP. With their appealing young roster and ample draft capital, the opportunity for a reunion in Oklahoma City is nearly possible.

Recent analyses, including a Bleacher Report proposal, emphasize a potential trade scenario that could facilitate Durant’s return. In this proposed deal, the Thunder would send Isaiah Hartenstein, Alex Caruso, Aaron Wiggins, and multiple draft picks to the Suns in exchange for Durant.

This trade makes more sense for the Thunder as it’s financially viable and sets the stage for them to acquire a superstar while maintaining their future flexibility.

With this move, the Thunder would highly benefit their standing as a contender, making them an attractive option for Durant. If the trade comes to fruition, it will lead to a formidable Thunder lineup featuring Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lu Dort, Jalen Williams, Kevin Durant, and Chet Holmgren.

Boston beats the odds again, turns garbage to gold to force Game 7
Once, a wise man told the fans of the Boston Celtics that anything was possible. And in Game 6 of the 2023 Eastern Conference finals as the Celtics could have let their title aspirations and their season slip through their fingers as Jimmy Butler made free throws to put the Miami Heat up 1 with just 3 seconds left, Boston’s Derrick White remembered that fact. A miraculous tip-in won the game for the Celtics and put Boston in a position to be the first team in the history of the NBA to overcome a 0-3 series deficit on their way to punching a ticket to face the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 NBA Finals and another chance at winning Banner 18. They will do it on Monday at home, playing for history on their home court of TD Garden. The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast sat down postgame to talk over a memory that will live on in Celtics lore for the ages. As well as what they expect to see in the best thing the NBA playoffs has to offer — a Game 7. The Celtics Lab podcast is brought to you by Fan Duel and Better Help. Learn more about your ad choices. Boston wins Game 4 vs. Miami, but lose Kristaps Porzingis; what happens next?
The Boston Celtics won Game 4 of their 2024 NBA Eastern Conference first round series with the Miami Heat to take a commanding 3-1 lead at Kaseya Center on Monday night, but the win came at a cost. The Celtics lost star big man Kristaps Porzingis to what is being described as a calf strain, and could miss substantial time as a result. How does Porzingis’ injury impact the rest of the series vs. the Heat? Assuming Boston advances (and we should), how do the team’s rotations change in terms of minutes distribution of frontcourt minutes change — and who gets them? The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast took a deep dive into Boston’s Game 4 results and what it means for the team moving forward. We also take a quick look around the league at some other developments that may impact Boston as well, focusing on what we want to see in Game 5. A deep dive into the deep rotation’s Stay Ready Crew with Noa Dalzell
The Boston Celtics have by most accounts the best top six players in the entire NBA to match their league-best regular season record. So, it can be easy to forget about the rest of the team. The so-called “Stay Ready Crew” mostly does just that — keep themselves in the right frame of mind and state of health in case their number is called. And those numbers do get called, with players like Oshae Brissett and Lamar Stevens bringing energy and matchup-dependent options that have sparked wins for Boston, while the sharpshooting duo of Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser wreak havoc on opposing defenses. And if it were not for the likes of Luke Kornet and Neemias Queta defying expectations as reserve big men, you can be sure there would be less wins to the Celtics’ name this season. Which players matter most to the team’s title aspirations? Which might be on the move ahead of the 2024 NBA trade deadline? What talent does Boston have in the pipeline in Maine? And who will see the floor in the postseason? To answer all of these key questions not quite getting the attention they deserve, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast linked up with Celtics Blog’s Noa Dalzell. The self-proclaimed Boston bench beat reporter who has a bead on a certain crew that stays ready, join us in a deep dive into the Celtics’ reserves. While the Suns are set to part ways with Kevin Durant this summer, teams other than OKC are also linked to him. Rumors suggest that KD could go to the Miami Heat this offseason.

As the Suns’ super team faces uncertainty, the intrigue around a potential blockbuster trade is heating up. According to ESPN, discussions surrounding Durant’s future have already taken shape. And the Suns and Heat are reportedly exploring deals before the trade deadline.

With Jimmy Butler sidelined, Miami could be looking to regroup the star power. They are eyeing to pair Durant with Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro could make the Heat a contender.

“Miami and Phoenix were already discussing Kevin Durant deals at last month’s deadline. According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne and Brian Windhorst, talks that could be revisited this summer,” Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz reported.

The proposed trade would send Durant to Miami in exchange for a mix of talent and future assets. Meanwhile, Phoenix stands to gain significant value by obtaining promising rookie Kel’el Ware, established players like Terry Rozier and sharpshooter Duncan Robinson, and a pair of first-round picks.
