“Chicago Sky Makes Major Announcement for Upcoming Season, Reaffirming Caitlin Clark’s Dominance Over Angel Rees

Caitlin Clark Disputes Angel Reese Rivalry With Two Questions

The Chicago Sky made a significant announcement for the upcoming 2025 WNBA season that serves as another victory for Caitlin Clark in her rivalry with Angel Reese.

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and Chicago’s Angel Reese headlined a deep 2024 WNBA rookie class and were both instrumental in contributing to increased viewership and ticket sales across the league.

The rivalry between these two stars dates back to 2023 when Reese led the LSU Tigers to a 102-85 blowout victory over Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes in the 2023 national championship game.

Well, Chicago has added extra juice to the rivalry by making a significant announcement about the upcoming season: Their two home games against Indiana (June 7 and July 27) will be played at the much larger United Center (home of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls and NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks) instead of their usual venue, Wintrust Arena:

That right there is another clear-cut indicator of Clark having the edge over Angel Reese in terms of overall star power and popularity. It’s no coincidence that the Sky chose the two games against Indiana to be played in the United Center.

Wintrust Arena has a capacity of 10,387, whereas the United Center can hold 21,500 spectators for basketball games.

Breaking down the many narratives of a Dallas Mavericks – Boston Celtics NBA finals
The Boston Celtics punched their ticket to the 2024 NBA Finals when they defeated the Indiana Pacers in just four games to win the league’s Eastern Conference finals, and now we have Boston’s finals opponent set with a winner for the Western Conference finals as well. That victor will be the Dallas Mavericks, who needed five games to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in the West finals on this past Thursday (May 30) night. The matchup will be laden with narratives we have been hearing for years now, from Kyrie Irving and Kristaps Porzingis’ return, two oft-critiqued coaches being the last two playing, among many, many more. Ahead of a full preview, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast decided to take a tour of all the narratives we should be expecting — and which ones we think actually matter. What options do the Boston Celtics have to improve their 2023 title odds?
The Boston Celtics lost Game 6 of their 2022 NBA Finals series with the Golden State Warriors to lose the NBA title to their West Coast rivals, but are already turning the page to the 2022-23 NBA season and how they can spruce up their roster and skills in order to not only make the Finals again, but this time, come out on top. They have a very good idea about what they need to improve on as a team and as individual players and will have plenty of tools at their disposal to add some key new faces. Don’t expect fireworks in terms of a splashy addition this offseason, but armed with a bevy of traded player exceptions (TPEs), draft assets, and young players, Boston could make some minor moves around the margins or even get aggressive should the right player become available. There is a lot to cover on what the offseason might end up looking like, so we broke it into two chunks, with this episode covering free agents, trades, and internal improvements, and another coming soon that will focus on the 2022 NBA draft headed our way this Thursday. Join your usual hosts Justin Quinn, Cameron Tabatabaie, and Alex Goldberg as we say goodbye to 2021-22 while turning our attention toward what needs to happen to make 2022-23 a success.
