Charles Barkley slammed for ‘disingenuous’ Los Angeles Lakers rant and Inside the NBA star ‘can’t admit when he’s wrong’

TNT star Charles Barkley has been called out for a recent rant on the Los Angeles Lakers.
A TV sportscaster blasted Inside the NBA analyst Charles Barkley, who has questioned the Lakers‘ resurgence even after acquiring five-time NBA All-Star Luka Doncic.
During an edition of Inside the NBA last week, Barkley criticized the current 40-23 Lakers and also sent shots at the future home of Inside the NBA, taking issue with ESPN’s non-stop coverage of the franchise.
The NBA Hall of Famer also said that teams like the No. 1 seeds in their respective conferences, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers, should be covered more.
FS1’s Nick Wright wasn’t afraid to slam Barkley for his critiques on the Lakers, as well as his character.
“Listen, everybody loves Chuck, but we’ve gotta be honest here,” wrote Wright in an X post after Barkley said his comments.

“ALL YEAR, he’s said the Lakers stink. Not that they’re not the best team in the league. That they’re bad/irrelevant.
“ALL YEAR, he’s minimized anything they’ve done.
“Then, they trade for Luka and NO ONE was more adamant that it wouldn’t work and that the Mavs were better off this year.
“Now, that they’re 2nd in the West, and have been the best team in the league for the last 6 weeks, he says they’ve had a good “2 weeks” and we still shouldn’t talk about them.”

Wright finished his long post, writing, “It’s disingenuous bullsh*t from someone who doesn’t want to admit he’s been wrong about this team every step of the way, and it’s OK to say that, despite the fact he’s the funniest/most beloved person in sports TV history.”
During his rant about the coverage of the Lakers, Barkley also ripped ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins for saying that the legendary team “saved the NBA” this season.
Charles Barkley left ‘shaking’ live on NBA on TNT after giving up his ‘addiction’ in New Year’s resolution
“I saw a fool, idiot on TV saying the Lakers saved the NBA. He’s an idiot and a fool but he knows who he is,” Barkley said before adding that he’s taking aim at Perkins.
“He said, the Lakers — first of all, the Lakers have had a great two weeks,” Barkley said. “He said the Lakers saved the NBA season.
“That’s because them fools on the other network, which we’re going to be working for next year, that’s all they talk about.
“Let me tell y’all something. And first of all, I want all the smoke. I don’t whistle when I walk by the graveyard or anything like that.”
Barkley also admitted that the Lakers have been playing better in recent weeks and that he doesn’t mind being wrong about the Lakers.
But he still said that the Lakers and the Golden State Warriors “have had two good weeks” while “the Cavs and OKC have had six great months.”

Nonetheless, the Lakers are 8-2 in their last 10 games.
Unfortunately, they will be without LeBron James for at least one to two weeks due to a groin strain.
