Caitlin Clark isn’t backing down. After a physically punishing rookie season in the WNBA, the Indiana Fever star has spent the offseason transforming her body. The reigning Rookie of the Year arrived at the league in 2024 as an elite scorer but quickly became a target for aggressive defenses. Now, she’s making sure she’s ready to dish out some punishment of her own.

Clark’s commitment to the weight room is paying off. Rather than spending her offseason overseas or playing in secondary leagues, she dedicated her time to strength training. The results are staggering. When Caitlin Clark showed up at the Big Ten Tournament on Friday, her noticeably stronger frame caught the attention of fans and analysts alike.

A Stronger, More Resilient Caitlin Clark

Listed at 6-foot-0 and 152 pounds when she entered the WNBA, Caitlin Clark took a beating during her debut season. Defenders leaned on her, threw elbows, and often resorted to cheap shots to slow her down. It didn’t stop her from leading the Fever to 20 wins, but she needed to bulk up to withstand the league’s physicality. So, she did.

Caitlin Clark has reportedly added at least two pounds of muscle since last season, focusing on upper-body strength. Photos from early in her rookie year compared to now show a clear transformation- her arms are visibly more defined, and her shoulders look stronger. The difference is night and day.

With new head coach Stephanie White now leading the Fever, Indiana has its eyes set on a championship. Clark is expected to be the centerpiece of that effort. Her offensive firepower is undeniable, and with her added strength, she’ll be even harder to stop. Opposing defenses might want to think twice before knocking her around in 2025.
