The Los Angeles Lakers secured a massive 123-100 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night. The win snapped their long-standing losing streak in Denver that stretched back to 2022. With the dynamic duo of Luka Doncic and LeBron James, the Lakers claimed their first win at Ball Arena in over two years. The duo combined for 57 points to lead the Lakers to win their second straight game.
The Lakers now boast a 34-21 record this season, maintaining their position as the fifth seed in the Western Conference. They have been on a strong run, winning eight of their last ten games. On the other hand, the Nuggets’ nine-game winning streak ended, and they dropped to a 37-20 record with this loss but continue to hold the third seed in the West.
The Los Angeles Lakers Break Denver Curse with Dominant Win As Luka Doncic Shines In Return
Doncic is back in his usual form. After missing the previous game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Doncic wasted no time reestablishing himself as a force. He poured in 32 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out seven assists.
Doncic also added four steals and a block, shooting 10-of-22 from the field. With this performance, Doncic became the first Lakers guard since Magic Johnson to post such all-around numbers in a single game.
LeBron finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and a steal. Austin Reaves contributed 23 points, four rebounds, and seven assists, while Rui Hachimura added 21 points and four assists.
For Denver, Aaron Gordon led the scoring with 24 points, while Jamal Murray added 19 points and six assists. Nikola Jokic posted a double-double with 12 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.
