TODAY’S Savannah Guthrie has admitted that she is in tears while working out on her treadmill.
Savannah replayed a special moment from the night before.
Savannah, 52, shared a video to her Instagram Story on Monday.
The Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, February 4.
The Today host reshared Joni Mitchell‘s performance of Both Sides Now.
This was the first time the 80-year-old had ever performed on the Grammys.
Savannah captioned the post, “TEARS ON MY TREADMILL watching replay this morning.”
The video was of Joni singing, which had many Grammy watchers wiping away their tears.
JONI’S ICONIC PERFORMANCE
Joni made her Grammy performance debut at 80.
She sat down, with a band around her, holding onto a cane.
Brandi Carlile joined Joni and played the guitar as they duetted Both Sides Now.
Despite never having performed at the Grammys, Joni has won 10 times and has been nominated another 18 times.
She won her tenth this year for Best Folk Album for Joni Mitchell at Newport.
SAD SAV
This isn’t the first time Savannah has broken down in tears.
In November, she announced a new book project that she was working on.
“This is a very personal project you’ve been working on for quite a while, and today’s the day you get to tell us about it!” Hoda Kotb said on Today as she passed the segment over to Savannah.
“Today is the day, it’s so personal, and I’m so nervous, but you know, you guys all know, you’re closest to me, and I’m so passionate about faith, how it can challenge us and inspire us,” Savannah said.
Her voice cracked as she went on, “It is at the heart of a new project that I’m excited to reveal right now.”
She introduced her new book called Mostly What God Does alongside a clip featuring Hoda as she was seen exploring faith and how different people experience and celebrate it.
When the clip ended, Savannah explained that the book comes out February 20 and it’s about a “bunch of reflections on faith, love, kindness, and goodness.”
“I’m in tears, but really excited, overjoyed and scared,” she said, holding back tears.
“I hope it will be full of love and happiness for everyone.”
Savannah was softly crying by the end of the segment.
