Meryl Streep, the famed veteran actress, has been rumoured to be considered for the role of ‘Aslan’ in the reboot of ‘The Chronicles of Narnia.’ Directed by Greta Gerwig, the film is in talks with Charlie XCX for The White Witch and Daniel Craig for Digory’s uncle, Andrew, as well.
The celebrated actress has mixed reviews on the ‘rumoured’ casting, as in the C. S. Lewis novels, ‘Aslan’ is a male figurine who mentors the citizens of the realm. As reported by Nexus Point News, Meryl Streep will portray a female narrative of the role, which was based on the allegory of Jesus. However, neither the production team nor any cast or crew member has confirmed it yet.

The material is so ripe for an adaptation in conversation with the author, and Greta is the number one filmmaker who can do that on a commercial scale. If you’re going to reboot a franchise that recent, I would rather see a bolder reinterpretation rather than another faithful adaptation. We already have the best case scenario
versions of the filmable books of the series.”
