CLUTTER CRISIS Dollar Tree apologizes after shoppers ‘can’t even access’ essential items on shelves – and it’s at multiple stores
A SHOPPER at Dollar Tree was left bewildered by the state of their local store, prompting a response from the company.
The retail chain has been widely criticized for similar issues at other locations.

A Dollar Tree customer complained that shelves were left inaccessible when piles of boxes obstructed the items for sale.
In a post on X, the customer uploaded a picture of the store, which showed mountains of cardboard boxes scattered across the aisle.
The boxes were piled so high that some of the items on the shelves were unreachable.
“Why does @DollarTree do this?” the user asked.
“We can’t even access the items on the shelves.”
The official Dollar Tree account responded, apologizing for the inconvenience.
“Hello – We are so sorry to hear that you had a poor experience in one of our stores, and we thank you for reaching out,” the account said.
“Please send us a DM with the exact address of the store you visited, so that we may have this addressed. Thank you.”
The retailer has been criticized for staffing issues in its stores, even as the chain undertakes major expansions across the US.
“6pm and you’re closed with a sign saying open till 9pm,” the customer wrote on X.
“Witnessed 11 people turn away in the past 20 mins while I wait for my kids to get out.”
The customer cited the store’s unreliability as the reason retail customers are turning to online shopping.
“This is why people shop at Amazon even when they don’t want to,” the user said.
In another incident, a separate customer complained that their store was overcrowded due to long checkout lines.
Consumers complained that the store was not equipped with enough employees to handle the shopping rush.
“Please give us self checkout,” the customer wrote.
“Ain’t no way I should be deep in this line for a singular roll of toilet paper towel.”
Despite its reputation for short-staffed stores, Dollar Tree has been expanding its presence in the midst of a “retail apocalypse,” which has resulted in the announced closures of thousands of stores over the last year.
The chain recently won a bid to acquire nearly 150 Party City locations as the beloved party supply store announced in December that it will be closing all of its stores.
Dollar Tree also acquired 170 leases from 99 Cents Only Stores, after the California-based retailer closed all of its remaining locations across four states.
