Kevin Durant Puts Skip Bayless On Blast For Calling Him “Mentally Semi-Retired” Amid Suns’ Struggles This Season

The Phoenix Suns have endured a turbulent season, struggling to find consistency despite boasting a roster led by Kevin Durant. With a record of 30-34, the Suns are now the eleventh seed in the Western Conference, far from the championship expectations set at the beginning of the season.
Following the Suns’ 126-115 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, sports analyst Skip Bayless made a bold claim about Durant’s current form. Durant did not take kindly to Bayless’ comments and wasted no time firing back on social media. The Suns star shared Bayless’ post on X and responded with a fiery message.
“F**k it, We’re both washed, it was a a great run,” Durant wrote.
Before it, on The Skip Bayless Show, Bayless suggested that Durant no longer carries the same hunger for the game. He then speculated that Durant’s involvement in a documentary about his career signals that he is nearing the end of his playing days.
“The more I watch him at age 36, the more he looks mentally semi-retired to me. He is participating in a documentary that’s being made about his life and times. And it just feels to me like he is winding down his basketball (career),” Bayless said.
