21-year-old Linda Mudzenda had the judges all shook up after knocking her 2025 Britain’s Got Talent audition for a six with an emotional performance that drew comparisons to Adele. The Zimbabwean talent scored Alesha Dixon’s golden buzzer after pouring her heart out onstage with Lauren Daigle’s “You Say.” Fans made comparisons to Adele in the comments to her viral audition, no doubt picking up on her incredible R&B voice and ability to sing straight from her soul and make you feel every line.
From the first line, it was clear that Mudzenda was the real deal, as she opened with a sonorous and soulful verse. She then sealed the deal when heading into the chorus, where she opened up the taps on her high range, drawing shocked looks from impressed judges and a huge cheer from the crowd. We are confident in saying that Mudzenda has got what it takes to go all the way this season!
Britain’s Got Talent uploaded Mudzenda’s audition to YouTube on March 30, 2025, and in the five days since, it exploded to 1.5 million views. One of the top commenters called her the next Adele and said it was “one of the most iconic performances on BGT ever,” while another popular comment was “This girl has a once-in-a-generation voice. Absolutely incredible, I hope all her wildest dreams come true. Can’t wait to hear her again!”
So far, Mudzenda’s audition is her only appearance on Britain’s Got Talent. However, she has shared a number of performances on her own YouTube channel. Her most popular upload to date is her cover of “Tangai Neni,” which was originally performed by Zimbabwean gospel singer Minister Michael Mahendere. We have to say that it really shows how versatile she is, as it calls for a very different vocal and performance approach to her hit audition, while retaining her signature heartfelt delivery.
Linda Mudzenda is a Zimbabwean singer who was born on March 29, 2004. She is currently based in Bedford, England, where she works as a support worker for children with learning disabilities. After her audition, Mudzenda told The Mirror that she hopes to win Britain’s Got Talent to help out her mum, saying, “The reason I’m here, working so hard, is because of my mum. She sacrificed a lot for me to live my passion of music. So she’s the first person I’d thank with the prize money. A lot would go to making sure she can relax for the rest of her life.”
